Ethereal Spins
(Leigh Dunbar) Hello there! I’m excited you have found our studio. I am a fiber artist and mother who loves collaborating with other artists and makers. I love fantasy, Renaissance festivals, wool, and singing. I have big goals and ideas for the studio and myself. I dream of a fiber center of austin where everyone can learn how to find, treat, process and use natural fibers to make their wardrobe, household items and much more from sustainable natural fibers that will return to the earth. I really believe there is a need. I would love to work with small farms and homesteaders so if thats you feel free to reach out!
And if you just want to come hang and learn to knit SpinsterStudios is a space for you as well. Fiber arts are for everyone.
Bitter Hag Fibers
Hi! I’m Erin aka Bitter Hag. I’m a fiber artist who specializes in crochet sculptures. Besides crochet, I also knit, spin, weave, embroider, and felt (sometimes). I am passionate about pushing the boundaries of what fiber can do, and what fiber art means.
I believe strongly that we should start eliminating acrylic and other plastics from our yarns, and support local fiber farmers by using natural animal and plant fibers. The more support we can put into this industry, the more accessible it will be for everyone, and the less plastic we’ll have in our garments, beddings, and homes.
I hope I can spread awareness of fiber as an art form through my work, and promote incremental changes towards sustainability.
