Why wool?
One thing I love about using animal fibers is that each fleece is so different. They are living fibers and you can feel the difference in the crimp, bounce, and even color based on the sun exposure. My wool comes from small fiber farms in the US and I love seeing pictures of the sheep and making something truly unique and worth handing down. Other fibers I enjoy using include silk, alpaca (we have a lot of local alpaca in texas) yak, and I’ve even spun qiviut from my trip to Alaska.
When you process a fleece all the way through to a finished product you really create something special and I would love to guide you through the process.
